COMMUNITY YARD SALE

With the holidays coming and the cooler weather I think its about time for a Community Yard Sale. Tentative date is September 27th. Start thinking of what you want to sell or what you need to get rid of. Hopefully by this time it will be cooler in the morning. Email me if you would like to volunteer to put up some signs skylineranch2@yahoo.com.

Overseeding

We are going to save some green buy not over seeding this year. Well let me explain it better. They will only be over seeding the grass areas at the parks. All the other grassy fields will not be over seeded. This decision was made at the last HOA meeting after talking about how much it would cost to over seed this year. They figured out the total cost and it would have been around $92,000. Thats a lot of money! So we will be saving quite a big chunk of change this year. At least half I would guess. Also the landscapers (who have been doing very well I might add) say that by not over seeding it will make the grass a whole lot healthier when spring comes back around.

CAUTION

I heard a bobcat lives in the orchards. So beware when walking or biking back there and think about your little pets too. If you have had a siting of it please comment and explain where you saw it and explain the details of the cat. Please be careful out there.

GOT AN EMAIL FROM A FELLOW RESIDENT

Hope someone can help her......

In the next couple of months I may need foster care for my son’s family dog. They are relocating to AZ and will need to stay with us for a couple of months. They have a sheba/sheltie mix older puppy named Josh, who cannot stay here because of allergies that other family members have. They could take him back when they got their own place. We would, of course, pay for his upkeep. I think I am looking at a Nov-Jan timeframe, but it could be sooner. If anyone could let him stay with them, we would be most grateful.

Thank You.

Party results

So today was the Queen Creek Marketplace grand opening party! Boy it was HOT! There was a long line to get to the snow so it took at least an hour to actually play in the snow. In the mean time I would go to a few booths and get some samples and fill out entry forms then come back to the line and let my husband do some other booths. At one time my husband took the kids to the car to cool off with the A/C! All in all it wasnt a very fun day for us at the party! We got a heat headache and the kids got bored. OH WELL! Anybody else go? Whats your feeling about it?

PS. I guess there is one upside to it.....I won a free Chipotle Burrito and got a full size Fuze drink to try.

RAIN

I was sick of hearing over and over on the news "chance of showers all week"! and day after day we got nothing. So I was going to post that everyone go wash your cars because after all we all know that after you wash you car it will rain.....right!? *hahaha* While I was tucking my kids into bed last night I could hear some wind and looked outside and noticed it was windy and there was alot of lightening. So the time it took me to tuck 2 kids into bed and walk back into my bedroom my husband said he just heard a big gust of wind. So we go outside and do our normal "prepare the yard for the storm" process which includes picking up the kid toys that could fly away, put away the kid pool in the garage so it doesnt fly away (we were victim of this last monsoon season) and move the car to the other side of the driveway away from the leaning tree that might tip over if we get a hard enough gust of wind. We come back in to finish getting ready for bed thinking this will just be a teaser storm.....no rain and then all the sudden we hear that magic sound of taps on our bathroom window. IT RAINED! Finally, we got the much needed rain last night. So again we go outside this time to smell and feel the water drips on our faces. Who else enjoyed the rain last night?
